The Danger Zone
Institutions need to take a step back and look at their “why” and rekindle their unique purpose. It is impossible to see the opportunities ahead when the fear of losing the status quo prevents us from following our passion. It’s easy to be compliant when all you have to do is check a box; however, it’s a sign of leadership when an institution’s “why” defines its quality and longevity.
PB & J Simplicity
We may not realize it, but most of the products we use on a daily basis appeal to us because of their simplicity. We look to make our lives easier not more complicated. Higher education is facing challenges today, but if you strip away the politics, traditions, and bureaucracies, what is needed is simplicity.
When To Let Go and Move On
Change provides a limited opportunity for institutions to look inwardly in order to meet outward needs. The ones who are successful are those with the right people, the right vision, and the willingness to make the hard choices to better serve a growing need.
